Josiah Fletcher Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Pittsburg, Kansas dedicated to honoring the legacy of Josiah Fletcher, a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to making the world a better place. Based on his values of inclusivity and a deep passion for music, we strive to continue his mission and inspire positive change in the SEK community.
Mission
To provide music education, exploration, and career opportunities to students within the Southeast Kansas region and allow students to grow as individuals, musicians, and community members.
Vision
To create a better world by fostering the appreciation and inclusion of all through instrumental music. Using the power of music to provide students with discovering new strengths, abilities, skills, and acceptance.
“The days of our childhood are over now, now dawns the beginning of a new era. Hopefully adulthood won’t be too harsh, we are all going to have hard times in the near future. That’s why we need to stick together, when someone is hanging by their fingertips we help them up because we know they will do the same for us. We have to be the example, we have to show people we aren’t children anymore, that we are young adults. We are the new generation, we will carry the flag until we die and pass it onto our children, look to the future!”
